Sumerian
Sumerian is an extinct, isolated language spoken in ancient Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq). It is one of the oldest languages, dating back to at least 2900 BC.
Sumerian was written using cuneiform script, which was originally developed for Sumerians but later adopted by other languages in the region, such as Akkadian.
Although Sumerian ceased to be a spoken language around 1800 BC, it was used as a sacred, ceremonial, literary, and scientific language in the Akkadian Mesopotamian region until the 1st century AD.
